Rainy day special, as college girls we use to prepare this on rainy days when we all gather at my house along with hot tea. An easy delicacy from our memory pool….

Serving: 2 Person

Preparation: 10 Minutes

Cooking: 15-20 Minutes

Ingredients:

½ cup gram flour

1 large Potato chopped finely

1 Onion chopped finely

1 inch Ginger chopped finely

1 stem Coriander leaves chopped finely

2 Green Chilli chopped finely (adjust as per your taste)

¼ tsp Carom seeds (Ajwain)

¼ tsp turmeric powder

½ tsp chilli powder (Optional)

¼ tsp Garam masala powder

¼ tsp Asafoetida powder (Hing Powder)

Salt to taste

Oil for frying

Method:

  • Mix all the ingredients except the oil
  • Add water little at a time until the mixture has a thick consistency as shown in picture
  • Heat oil
  • Deep fry a tablespoon of the mixture until golden on medium heat
  • Place in kitchen towel to drain excess oil
  • Serve hot with sauce of your choice

Tips:

  • If you wish can add chopped cashew nuts to the mixture/batter
  • Do not leave the mixture at the counter for too long after adding water it will absorb more oil while frying
