Aloo Capsicum Gravy

Capsicum – 4 medium (cut into small pieces)

Potatoes – 2 medium

Onion – 1 medium

Tomato – 1 medium

Cashew nuts – 5-6

Coriander Powder – 1 tsp

Cumin Seeds – 1 tsp

Red Chilly Powder – 1 tsp

Turmeric Powder – 1/4 tsp

Whole Spices Powder – 1/2 tsp

Salt to taste

Vegetable Oil – 2 tbsp


1) Boil the potatoes and cut them into cubes and keep aside

2) In a non stick pan take a tbsp of oil and add the cut capsicums and add salt to it. Saute it for about 5 minutes and remove it in a separate container and keep aside

3) Grind to smooth paste – tomato, cashew nuts, cumin seeds, coriander and keep aside.

4) Take 1 tbsp oil in a non stick kadai / vessel and add the onions to it. Saute it till golden brown

5) Add red chilly powder, turmeric, salt and whole spices masala and sauté it for another 2 minutes

6) Add the ground masala and sauté it till oil oozes out. Add a cup of warm water and add the potatoes and capsicums to it and simmer it with the lid on

7) Let it cook on slow fire for about 10-12 minutes


Serve the Aloo Capsicum Gravy with hot puris or chapatis
